Tentative Schedule for the Great Loop Trip of 2004 & 2005 1) October 1st, 2004 - Depart from Lake Barkley Marina 2) Attend the Great Loop Crusing Association Rendezvous (October 5th, 6th & 7th) at Joe Wheeler State Park on the Tennessee River in Rogersville, Alabama 3) Mid-October 2004 - Visit Tennessee River, Wheeler Lake, Wilson Lake and Pickwick Lake 4) Mid-October 2004 - Start south on the Tombigbee Waterway 5) Thanksgiving 2004 - Arrive in Sarasota, Florida to visit daughter Jackie and her in-laws 6) Christmas/New Years 2004 - Arrive in Naples, Florida to visit Jack's sister Lolita and other family members 7) January 2005 - Spend January in the Florida Keys, visiting with Keith Sipes in Marathon Key and Steve Hofford in Southern Florida 8) End of January 2005 - Attend Trawler Fest 2005 in Stuart, Florida 9) February/March 2005 - Visit the Abaco Islands, Bahamas 10) April 1st, 2005 - Start up the East Coast, visitng the Carolina's, Virginia, Maryland and New York. Planning to be in front of the Statue of Liberty by mid-June 2005 11) Mid-June 2005 - Start up the Hudson RIver to Montreal, Canada 12) July/August 2005 - Tour Canada on the Canadian Waterways Rideau and Trent-Severn (101 locks) 13) End of August 2005 - Entering the North Channel, past Mackinac Island, down the east coast of Lake Michigan. Visit various ports in Michigan, arriving in Chicago around Labor Day 2005. 14) September 2005 - Travel down Calumet River, Illinois RIver, Mississippi River, Ohio River Cumberland River and Barkley Lake, arriving back in Cadiz, Kentucky on/around October 1st, 2005. |
